Ďalej používame predložku in, keď chceme povedať, že niečo alebo niekto je:
in a line/in a row/in a queue	v rade
in the sky/in the world	na oblohe, na svete
in an office/in a department	v kancelárii, v oddelení
in a book/in a newspaper/in a magazine/in a letter	v knihe, v novinách, v časopise, v liste
in bed	v posteli
in a photograph/in a picture	na fotke, na obrázku

on – na niečom (plocha)

I sat on the floor/on the ground/on the grass/on the beach/on a chair.

Taktiež používame on the way (na ceste):

at – na nejakom mieste

Do you know that man standing at the door/at the window? (pri dverách/pri okne)

Turn left at the traffic lights/at the church/at the roundabout. (na semafóroch/pri kostole/na kruhovom objazde)

We have to get off the bus at the next stop. (na ďalšej zastávke)

at the top (of)/at the bottom (of)/at the end (of)/at the back (na vrch, na spodok, na koniec, vzadu)

Jane´s house is at the other end of the street.

Porovnajte at a in:

There were a lot of people in the shop. (vo vnútri)

Turn left at the shop. (pri obchode – miesto)

I´ll meet you in the hotel lobby. (vo vnútri)

I´ll meet you at the entrance to the hotel. (pri vchode – miesto)

Porovnajte at a on:

There´s somebody at the door. (pri dverách, vo dverách, za dverami)

There´s a notice on the door. (prilepený na dverách)
