under	pod	under the bridge under the ladder (rebrík)
up	hore	up the hill up the road
down	dolu	down the hill down the road
over*	cez, ponad	over the bridge He jumped over the fence. (Preskočil cez plot.)
into	do, dovnútra	into the lake into the box He jumped into the water.

*over znamená cez, ponad – ako keby oblúkom. Pokiaľ chceme povedať cez niečo uzavreté, ako napr. tunel, les, alebo cez nejakú plochu ako je ulica, cesta tak používame iné predložky, ktoré sú učivom vyšších ročníkov.
