Rozdiel medzi britskou a americkou angličtinou je prevažne vo výslovnosti, pravopise a slovnej zásobe. Niekoľko rozdielov môžeme nájsť aj v gramatike.

Accommodation je zvyčajne nepočitateľné podstatné meno:

Accomodation môže byť počitateľné podstatné meno:

Podstatné mená ako government/team/family etc. môžu mať jednotné alebo množné sloveso:
The team is/are playing well.
Tieto podstatné mená sú počitateľné:

round, around
Používajú sa oboje round aj around:
He turned round.
alebo
He turned around.
Používa sa len around:
He turned around.
get on, get along (vychádzať s niekým)
používajú use get on (with somebody)
